Hi, I’m Halley Claire. This is my debut album, Wretched.

I live on a family farm in Central Wisconsin. I love horses, swimming, my friends and performing in musical theater. I’ve always loved to sing and write songs and I have been doing it since I was 3 years old. I have been working on Wretched for almost two years. I wrote most of the songs during the summer going into 4th grade and my 4th grade school year. Wretched is about starting a new school and the challenges and achievements that came with that big change in my life. I made some really awesome friends at my new school that helped me get through all the hard parts. I want to thank Reese, Natalie, Charlie, Penelope, Piper, Bella, and Thea. They helped me feel better when I was going through rough times. Thank you so much ?to Sophia and all of the amazing friends I met in CWETA being a part of Beauty and the Beast for helping me get through the year and giving me something to look forward to every day. And to my oldest friends, Evelyn and Grace, thanks for always making everything fun no matter what.

Wretched is also about my feelings, my emotions and my relationships with my family and my friends. I want to thank my Dad, Jordan, who helped me produce and record all my songs in his bedroom, and who plays guitar in my live band. And I’d like to thank my little brother, Ulysses, who is 9, for being the drummer in our live band and for all of his awesomeness as a drummer. I’d like to thank my Mom, Laura, for always being there for me.  I want to thank my cousin Charlotte from Indianapolis who has given me lots of ideas for songs even if she doesn’t know it, and who is the most amazing dancer I’ve ever seen. I’d like to thank my cousins Adeline and Eloise for making a music video with me while they were visiting from New Zealand this summer. I want to thank my family in Dallas, Texas and Laguna Beach, CA for always supporting me. I want to give a special shout out to my cousin Clara who has Down Syndrome, she always makes my day and I want the best for her in life. 

I wrote most of these songs before I really started listening to music or even knowing any popular songs. But now I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. I love their songs so much and they really inspired me to make my songs into an album and to perform them live. Thank you for inspiring me to keep going Taylor and Olivia, I love you so much.
